Outdoor Activities
There are many walking and biking trails in our area. The nearby DNR Glacial Lakes Trail is a paved, 26-mile route meandering through woods, prairies and streams. It is a wonderful place for riding bikes, rollerblading, walking and running. During winter, it's also ideal for snow-mobiling and cross country skiing.
When you're not on the trail, you can get on the water to boat, swim, fish or just relax on the beach. You can also birdwatch, play tennis and take advantage of the area's four golf courses.
Culture & Shopping
There are numerous antique, craft and specialty shops nearby, along with theaters and area museums. Favorite destinations include the Interpretative Center at nearby Sibley State Park and the Environmental Learning Center.
Live theater and music abound. The Barn Theatre has live performances year-round. The Willmar Area Symphonic Orchestra puts on a concert each season. There's also live music at the Willmar Education and Arts Center and Willmar's Rice Park features weekly summer concerts by the Prairie Winds Concert Band.
