It’s finally here – the Fourth of July Celebration!  For me this brings back memories from my childhood of the Spicer Parade and all the festivities during the day with the spectacular fireworks over beautiful Green Lake at dusk.  Equally important is to give thanks to those brave people who serve in our armed forces and their families.

If you have never been to Spicer over the Fourth of July - then this is your year!  Afterall you made it through another Minnesota winter and you deserve a fun getaway in the summer sun.Spicer Castle Inn overlooking beautiful Green Lake

Spicer, MN ~ Spicer Castle Inn Baby Shower

We are so fortunate to have a wonderful staff that works hard to make sure each guest is met with our gracious hospitality, clean and cozy guestrooms along with wonderful food.  So when one of our employees is expecting her first baby in a few months, it was the perfect time to host a baby shower with her family and friends.

I decided to decorate a carrot cake (her favorite flavor) with fondant babies.  By the color of the cake, I bet you can guess the sex of her new arrival.

I hope that you will consider our historic Inn on beautiful Green Lake when you have a special occassion in your family or work place.  It would be fun to create a special cake just for you.Baby Shower Cake

Spicer, MN ~ Spicer Castle Inn Birthday Party

This weekend we celebrated “Aunt Betty’s” birthday.  It was fun to get together with family and friends to celebrate this special occassion. Aunt Betty loves to garden, so I decided to  make her favorite white cake with lemon filling and decorated it with fondant roses.

Spicer, MN ~ Spicer Castle Inn Murder Mystery Dinners

Fun. Laughter & Great Food!Summer’s coming and now is the time to enjoy the warm weather at our Historic B&B on beautiful Green Lake.  Experience an evening filled with laughter and great food in one of our hilarious murder mystery dinners. 

Here is a list of a few things to do while visiting our historic bed and breakfast Inn.  Relax in a double whirlpool tub or read a good book.  Play a board game, cards or put a puzzle together. Use our complimentary canoe to paddle around in the water and catch a glimpse at the fish or loons.  Take a hike or go bike riding on one of the many paved trails  and catch the sweet fragrance of the lilacs and honeysuckle.  Or do absolutely nothing and enjoy our lake country setting.
