Looking for a spectacular driving route? The Glacial Ridge Trail is a beautiful driving route that meanders through the prairie and woods that is absolutely gorgeous right now and hopefully will last another week.
While the weather is still nice a bike ride or hike on the Glacial Lakes State Trail or the 12 mile trail that follows around Green Lake would be quite refreshing.

The lakes are calm this time of year and a canoe trip to view the fall colors would be spectacular.

Tonight as I am bundled in a cozy blanket and enjoying a steaming cup of peppermint tea I can hear the wind outside rustling through the leaves. The air is crisp and the trees are turning crimson red and bright yellow ~ fall is here!

Be sure to bring your camera as the sunsets are magnificent over Green Lake. John Spicer, who built this grand lake home in 1895 selected this spot for the sunsets and during the autumn season when the moon is full the reflection on the water it is truly transpiring. Only in Minnesota do the seasons change so rapidly, now as I am looking out the window I see the Amur Maple tree is a splendid red color and there is a chance of snow flurries Friday night.
I am excited for the fall season and the opportunity to introduce our wood fire dinners to you. We are offering 12 Pepper Seasoned Sirloin, Herb Pork Loin with Dijon Sauce, Chicken Breast with Italian Marinade and Shrimp Skewers. To top off your dining exeprience you will want to sample our Roasted Apple with Caramel Sauce and Ice Cream, Pumpkin Cheesecake or Ultimate Brownie Torte.

You can make your reservation just for dinner or if you are looking for a fun getaway include a night or two at our historic bed and breakfast Inn along the shores of beautiful Green Lake. The colors are just starting to show their autumn splendor – now is a great time to visit our Inn and enjoy the outdoors.
Fall is a beautiful season and the splendor of the sunsets across Green Lake was the reason John Spicer selected this location to build his lake home. There are 18 guestrooms, several with double whirlpool tubs and showers, fireplaces, coffeemakers, refirgerators and microwaves. Afternoon tea and a four-course breakfast are included with your stay.

As an innkeeper one of the most rewarding experiences is knowing that we provide a place where our guests can meet new friends, enjoy great food, laugh, make smores at the firepit, read a book or put a puzzle together and walk the paths and view the spectacular fall colors.
