It’s finally here – the Fourth of July Celebration!  For me this brings back memories from my childhood of the Spicer Parade and all the festivities during the day with the spectacular fireworks over beautiful Green Lake at dusk.  Equally important is to give thanks to those brave people who serve in our armed forces and their families.

If you have never been to Spicer over the Fourth of July - then this is your year!  Afterall you made it through another Minnesota winter and you deserve a fun getaway in the summer sun.

This weekend we celebrated “Aunt Betty’s” birthday.  It was fun to get together with family and friends to celebrate this special occassion. Aunt Betty loves to garden, so I decided to  make her favorite white cake with lemon filling and decorated it with fondant roses. 

We hope that you keep our bed and breakfast Inn in mind when you have a special birthday to celebrate with your family and friends.  It would be fun to create a personalized cake for your birthday party.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery and bird watching as you walk or bike along the groomed trails. I enjoy my time on the trails that meander through prairies, rivers and over bridges – it is a great opportunity to relax.
