Imagine strolling the wooded grounds and shores of Green Lake where over a century ago pioneer, John Spicer researched the latest farming methods on his Medayto Farm named after the Indian word “Medayto” meaning Green Lake. 

The house known as the Medayto Cottage, got it’s name “Spicer’s Castle” in the 1930’s by local fisherman who used it as a landmark for their favorite fishing spots. Spicer Castle Inn is listed in the National Register of Historic Places due to John Spicer’s contributions to development of the region with his improved farming methods.  Spicer Castle Inn is owned and operated by the orginal family and now provides a Minnesota vacation for families and friends.   

Winter is a gorgeous time of year at our Inn, the crisp air and beautiful winter landscape provides a spectacular view of the sunset overlooking Green Lake.  There are fun outdoor activites including snow shoeing, cross country skiing, ice fishing and sleigh rides to name a few.  Perhaps you would enjoy putting a puzzle together or playing a board game while you reconnect with that someone special in your life.  We are offering a mid-week lodging and dining special,  be sure to check out our Calendar of Events for fun promotions updated regularly.
