The Spicer Castle Bed and Breakfast Inn is one of the best loved Minnesota resorts. We have the honor of being one of a small number of Minnesota resorts that are registered with the National and State Registers of Historic Places. Part of what makes our Inn so special are the original furnishings and art work. Spicer Castle looks very much the way it did when John Spicer built it a century ago.
Old-Fashioned Minnesota Resorts
Few Minnesota resorts have the power to make guests feel as if they are stepping back in time. A long weekend or week at the Spicer Castle Inn will remind you of days gone by, when time moved more slowly and life was more peaceful. Even our food is cooked the old-fashioned way. We're known for our delicious meals, which are home-made from scratch. With fresh veggies, delicious meats and fresh creamy butter, the food is hearty without being heavy, and wonderfully fresh.
You can also enjoy our wonderful food as part of our memorable dinner packages. Guests can enjoy a delightful five-course meal. These packages are extremely popular, and the majority of our guests take part in them.
Each of our rooms is filled with old-fashioned charm, as well. We have eight rooms in the Castle and 10 cottage rooms on the property. You may wish to stay in John's Cottage, where you can admire the lake and lagoon through 15 windows, each decorated with lace curtains. With its fireplace and whirlpool tub, it's a very cozy cottage, indeed. For a memorable Fourth of July weekend, you may want to stay in Christopher's Room in the Garden House, with its patriotic theme.
